PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

SABIC Innovative Plastics in Bergen op Zoom, Netherlands – Internship

Internship title: Development and characterization of functional polymer surfaces

Supervisors: Ramon Groote, Alexander van Goudswaard

Tasks: Conducted my own research project about properties and modification of polymer surfaces. Performed various syntheses of modified monomers as well as radical polymerization and copolymerization reactions. Used various characterization techniques, such as NMR, ATR-FTIR, GPC, DSC and contact angle measurements.

Centre of Polymer and Carbon Materials of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Zabrze, Poland – Internship

Internship title: Controlled radical polymerization of N-vinylformamide

Supervisor: Barbara Trzebicka

Tasks: Performing ATRP polymerization using common monomers. Developing a set of optimized conditions for performing controlled radical polymerization of N-vinylformamide using atom transfer radical polymerization and reversible addition−fragmentation chain-transfer polymerization.
